Restorative Aide Marshara Hensley, at left, and Occupational Therapist Beth Bell assist Brilla Calton, 69, of Mabe as she takes her walk in the PACE facility's main hall. 'Many of our participants come to us very depressed, very deconditioned. They lie or sit and get weakened in general,' Bell notes. 'We try to get them to a point where they can be independent in their self-care and leisure skills.' Calton is working her way up to walking the full length of the hall, about 325 feet. 'I got a ways to go yet,' she says.
