On this page of her scrapbook, Janie Slemp Newman preserves a very special invitation from Virginia Gov. Harry F. Byrd and Mrs. Byrd and the George Washington Birthday Association to a reception in Alexandria honoring President and Mrs. Calvin Coolidge on Feb. 22, 1928. Newman's brother, C.
