While Powell Valley resident Addison Stallard began keeping records on the weather back in 1965, his data from that year to 1977 was misplaced during a household renovation project. A page from his 1977 notebook shows how he lined up his information to be able to compare weather notes for the same calendar date on successive years. Days of the month go across the page, years go down the side. A January 1977 entry notes, 'Snowfall for 15 days in January. Seven days of zero or below. One day at 14 degrees.'
