Gap Food Lion to close Feb. 3

A small sign in the center of the front window alerts Big Stone Gap Food Lion shoppers that 'closing hours' are now in effect at the store. Officials last week told 31 associates that the store will be closing Feb. 3. Those who do not obtain jobs with other stores in the chain will be offered severance packages, a company official said.
