'Gathering in Gap' festival launches songwriting contest

Singer and songwriter Darrell Scott's songwriting workshop at last year's Gathering in the Gap festival inspired the addition of a songwriting category in this year's festival competition lineup. Scott, at right, who holds a bachelor's degree in poetry, drew participants from several states to the instructional session. Performing with him is his father, Wayne, also a veteran songwriter.
