Bowen dedicates book, movie project to former boxer

The dedicated Christian service of former Golden Glove Boxing Champion Buddie Russell, of Surgoinsville, Tenn., at left, inspired Pastor Billy Bowen, of David's Tabernacle Church in Appalachia, to co-write with his wife, Freda, a boxing three-act Passover play, 'The Rumble on Golgotha.' Now a film presentation featuring more than 600 slides and narration, the story will be presented at the church Friday, April 2, at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 3, at 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.
