'Christmas is over and people tend to forget, but these soldiers need to know they are not forgotten, that we appreciate what they are doing for our country,' Carolyn Bush said. 'We don't send just to groups on the anysoldier.com list. In December, we sent Brian Renfro several boxes of school supplies for the children where he was stationed. He's a teacher at Powell Valley Middle School who was serving in Iraq. This month, we're sending packages to Ronald Skorupa, the nephew of Stella Lane, one of our neighbors in Appalachia. He'll get personal hygiene items, snacks and the thing all soldiers love — Little Debbie Snack Cakes,' she said.
