'Gathering' Festival grows, expands in scope

Winners of the first annual Gathering in the Gap Songwriting Contest include, from left, Ketasha Taylor, Pennington Gap, third place; J.C. Radford, Kingsport, Tenn., second place, and Travis Kern, Big Stone Gap, first place. Kern noted following the win that he will soon be relocating to Danville, Ky., where he will be teaching in the Burgin School, a kindergarten through grade 12 community school, and performing in the surrounding area.
