When former Inman resident T.J. 'Jim' Holbrook retired to Palermo Place, The Villages, in Florida about 10 years ago, he sold one of the family cars and bought a golf cart for trips to the grocery store, post office, community events and local golf courses. The Villages population has soared from 13,000 when he arrived, to 75,000 today, in part due to the popularity of the carts for transportation, he notes. — Submitted photo.
