The appropriately named Cool Day Critters won the old time band competition at Saturday’s Gathering in the Gap. A pick-up band including Big Stone Gap banjoist Matthew Bright and Front Royal duo Patrick McCauley and Barbara Stevens, they took the honors following a one-song playoff.
