Jessica Franks is a history maker. This sophomore student at Wilmington Early College High School in Wilmington, N.C., is making her mark in history now. She is the current president of the Wilmington NAACP Youth Council and previously served as the council secretary. Her outstanding leadership abilities are instrumental in guiding the youth council in a variety of activities at local and state levels. Franks is the daughter of Tonia and Donald Franks, the granddaughter of Hettie Horton McCoo and Eddie McCoo, Jr. of Big Stone Gap. She attends St. Luke AME Zion Church.
