Schools prepare for Aug. 3 opening

Virginia Department of Transportation employees Wade Belcher, kneeling, and Teddy Mickles install devices to help keep vehicles in the correct part of the road as they approach the new roundabout in front of Union High School. There will be roundabout driving workshops today, 2-7 p.m. at the Big Stone Gap welcome center, Aug. 1 around 6:30 p.m. in the Union High cafeteria and Aug. 2, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., also in the cafeteria.
