Fire claims a life

The Virginia State Police criminal investigation bureau is investigating this fire early Wednesday morning on Stillhouse Hollow Drive, just across the Lee County line between Big Stone Gap and the Seminary community. It was reported to the Lee County sheriff’s office at 3:11 a.m. The home was destroyed. A body was located inside and has been sent to the medical examiner’s office in Roanoke. While the fire remains under investigation, it does not appear to be suspicious, according to state police.
