MARGARET ERNESTINE WOLFE BOWERS

Margaret Ernestine Wolfe Bowers, lovingly known as “Tine,” passed peacefully from this life into her heavenly home on April 2, 2026—her 85th birthday—as she slept at home.
Tine was united in marriage to the love of her life, Bill Bowers, on August 31, 1963, in Appalachia, Virginia. They shared57 wonderful years of marriage, building a life grounded in love, family, and faith until his passing.
Tine was born in Fleming, Kentucky, and was raised in Appalachia, Virginia, where she graduated from Appalachia High School. She went on to attend Virginia Intermont College in Bristol, Virginia. She and Bill began their life together in Appalachia before later making their home in Big Stone Gap, Virginia. They also spent a period of time living in Orlando,Florida, and later in Johnson City, Tennessee. In her later years, she relocated to Carolina Beach, North Carolina, where she spent her final five years living with her son Shane and daughter-in-law Tracie.
Tine was a beautiful woman with many talents. She had a love for music, a gift for teaching, and dedicated her career as a mental health counselor, helping and guiding others. She also had a strong entrepreneurial spirit that touched many lives. Her greatest pride and joy, however, was her family—especially her beloved grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Shane Bowers (Tracie Stanley Bowers); her daughter, Amber Rich (Ed Rich); her brother, EarlMack Wolfe; and her cherished grandchildren, Tessa Marie Bowers, Jake Rich, and Ethan Rich.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Bowers; her father, Hurcell Wolfe; her mother, Mildred Fleming Wolfe; her brother, Billy Wolfe; and her sister, Barbara Jean Wolfe Davis.
Tine also had a deep love for her fur babies, Spencer and Parker, who brought her much comfort and companionship.
In accordance with her final wishes, Tine will be cremated, and no formal service will be held.

Tine will be remembered for her warmth, her strength, her many gifts, and the deep love she had for her family. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
