FREDDY WAYNE PLEASANT

Freddy Wayne Pleasant, age 63, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tennessee.

Freddy was born in Appalachia, Virginia to the late Fred and Shirley (Caudill) Pleasant. Freddy was a mechanic for many years working at Double D Tire in Big Stone Gap, Virginia and a diesel mechanic at RSV Truck Repair in Kingsport, Tennessee. Freddy was a family man who loved his children and his grandchildren deeply. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping and fishing. Freddy also enjoyed watching his favorite shows; Gunsmoke, Maury, and the Jerry Springer Show. Freddy also enjoyed Nascar racing and driving old cars; not working on them. He was a hard-working man who provided for his family. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew him.

Freddy is survived by his wife of 26 years, Christina “Tina” Sturgill Pleasant; sons, Brandon Pleasant, Timothy Pleasant, Jonathan Pleasant, Dylan (Rebecca) Pleasant; brother, William “Bill” Pleasant; grandchildren, Paysun Pleasant, Carter Pleasant, Eden Pleasant; nieces and nephews, Brittaney Pleasant, Jovonna (Emiliano) Nick, Cody (Tiffany) Pleasant, Adam (Kirsten) Pleasant, Tanner Mawk; along with other close relatives and friends.

The family received friends on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at Holding Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. A celebration of life service will be held following in the funeral home’s chapel; Pastor Fletcher officiated.
