County sees 27 new cases

Wise County reported 27 new COVID-19 cases between Jan. 16 and Tuesday.

According to Virginia Department of Health statistics, the county’s total number of cases since spring 2020 was 15,763 as of Tuesday, compared to 15,736 one week earlier.

Wise County’s total number of COVID deaths was revised down by one, from 257 to 256. The reason was not immediately clear.
