One death, 47 cases

Wise County reported 47 new COVID-19 cases between Oct. 17 and Tuesday.

According to Virginia Department of Health statistics, the county’s total number of cases since spring 2020 was 14,752 as of Tuesday, compared to 14,705 one week earlier.

Wise County’s total number of COVID deaths increased by one, from 240 to 241.
