One death, 68 new cases

Wise County reported 68 new COVID-19 cases between Jan. 17 and Tuesday.

According to Virginia Department of Health statistics, the county’s total number of cases since spring 2020 was 13,664 as of Tuesday, compared to 13,596 one week earlier.
Wise County’s total number of COVID deaths increased by one, from 225 to 226.
The health department recently modified its reporting methods on COVID statistics, presenting information updates less frequently. County-by-county case counts and related statistics are no longer being updated daily.
