Another death, 90 COVID cases reported

Wise County reported 90 new COVID-19 cases between Jan. 4 and Tuesday.

According to Virginia Department of Health statistics, the county’s total number of cases since spring 2020 was 13,542 as of Tuesday, compared to 13,452 six days earlier.
Wise County’s total number of COVID deaths increased by one, from 223 to 224.

The health department recently modified its reporting methods on COVID statistics, presenting information updates less frequently. County-by-county case counts and related statistics are no longer being updated daily.
