Big Stone Gap officials recently dedicated the new bridge on Shawnee Avenue West in memory of John H. Cubine. Roughly one year ago, Town Council agreed to ask the Commonwealth Transportation Board to name the bridge after Cubine, who was known for establishing Jessie Lea RV Park and Campground, along with his iconic wood carvings along the Greenbelt trail and elsewhere in town.
