Two deaths, 35 cases reported

Wise County reported 35 new COVID-19 cases between Nov. 30 and yesterday.

According to Virginia Department of Health statistics, the county’s total number of cases since spring 2020 was 13,235 as of yesterday, compared to 13,200 one week earlier.
The county’s total of COVID deaths increased by two, from 221 to 223.
Statewide, the total number of confirmed cases since the pandemic began rose from 1,516,580 Nov. 30 to 1,522,697 yesterday, an increase of 6,117. The number of “probable” cases in Virginia rose from 632,932 Nov. 30 to 636,951 yesterday, an increase of 4,019.
During the same period, the number of confirmed deaths increased by 68 to 18,659. The number of probable COVID-19 deaths increased by 18 to 3,845.
