County: 62 more cases in a week

Wise County reported 62 new COVID-19 cases between Nov. 2 and yesterday.

According to Virginia Department of Health statistics, the county’s total number of cases since spring 2020 was 13,065 as of yesterday, compared to 13,003 one week earlier.
The county’s total of COVID deaths remained at 212.

Statewide, the total number of confirmed cases since the pandemic began rose from 1,500,126 Nov. 2 to 1,504,410 Wednesday, an increase of 4,284. The number of “probable” cases in Virginia rose from 622,313 Nov. 2 to 625,096 yesterday, an increase of 2,783.
During the same period, the number of confirmed deaths increased by eight to 18,446. The number of probable COVID-19 deaths increased by 12 to 3,785.
