Four deaths, 113 new cases

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Wise County increased by 113 between June 22 and Wednesday.

The Virginia Department of Health reported Wednesday morning that the county’s total confirmed cases in the months since the pandemic began had risen to 10,922 — up from 10,809 one week earlier.
The number of Wise County COVID-19 deaths increased by four, from 200 to 204.

Statewide, the total number of confirmed cases since the pandemic began rose from 1,319,737 June 22 to 1,332,498 Wednesday, an increase of 12,761. The number of “probable” cases in Virginia rose from 527,168 June 22 to 533,419 yesterday, an increase of 6,251.
During the same period, the number of confirmed deaths increased by 68 to 17,171. The number of probable COVID-19 deaths increased by 21 to 3,400.
