Appalachia Mayor Chase Christian and council member Johnny Chandler this week began installing the split rail fence at Washington Rock when they were accompanied by the Mountain Empire Community College power lineman class, which studies at the college’s Appalachia facility. ‘From trimming trees to digging holes, I was amazed at the precision, efficiency and professionalism those young men demonstrated,’ Christian noted. ‘The instructors were consistently giving these men a barrage of safety protocols while conducting their efforts, which will only strengthen their career opportunities in the future.’ SUBMITTED PHOTO
