Refreshments will be available. If you have participated in the construction of this church, attended Bible School, were married here or a “WhoSoEver”, we would love to see you. Pastors Bud Kilbourne and Eddie Kilbourne.
Just a little history of the church: The Rev. Jimmy Smith first organized this church in 1937. It was crafted by hand with a labor of love and with a lot of help from community folks. The church was called Powells’ Valley Presbyterian Church, better know as The Stone Church. It was completed in 1948. Rev. Smith passed in 1971.
Hugh Bowers became the next pastor and retired in 1998.
The existing pastors, Rev. Bud and Rev. Eddie Kilbourne felt a bond to the beautiful Stone Church and inquired about the emptiness. They were able to rent for a few years and now have purchased the building which is now know as CornerStone House of Prayer, non-denominational.
We appreciate the pastors, laborers, supporters and prayer warriors of the past which have paved the path where we are today. “Bravo to the past!”
