REMINDERS

As of Wednesday, 15,096 Wise County residents had received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine, according to the health department. That’s about 40 percent of the population as it was estimated in 2019, at nearly 37,400.

Gov. Ralph Northam announced June 21 that 70 percent of Virginians 18 and older had received at least one dose.

Guidance from the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention specifies that those who are unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated should continue to wear masks, practice physical distancing and avoid crowds and poorly ventilated spaces.
