JOY ONETA (DYE) DALTON

Joy Oneta (Dye) Dalton, 86, passed away peaceful on April 14, 2020 at Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville, KY.

She was born in Mendota, VA on August 25, 1933. She grew up in the Crackers Neck area, the daughter of the late Curtis Henderson Dye and Rebecca Jane (Kaylor) Dye. Four brothers, Kenneth, Denver, Earl and Paul along with two sisters, Audry and Bonnie preceded her in death.

Joy loved reading and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She graduated from East Stone Gap High School in 1952. 

She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 64 years, Gerald Dalton Sr., daughter Rebecca (Betsy) Elizabeth Dalton, son, Bob Dalton Jr. and wife Carol. Grandchildren, Amanda Furby (Brian), Steven Dalton (Julie), Tracy Jennings (Andy), and Katherine Dalton (Ian). Great-grandchildren, Abel, Samantha, Ava, Lana, Elain, Reid, Emrie, and Adalyn. She has left nieces, nephews, and many friends, from the Big Stone Gap area, that will miss her until they meet again. 

She loved Jesus and lived a Christian life and prayed daily for her family and friends to do the same.
