WILLIAM TEX PARSONS

May 13, 2020

William Tex Parsons, 74, of Appalachia, went to be with his Lord, Friday, May 9, 2020.

Tex was a member of the Haven of Praise Ministries. He loved singing the song he wrote and giving mints to the children on Sunday Morning. He was employed by Mulligan Lumber Co. and had a great love for the mountains and the trees. He enjoyed working at the Appalachia Food Bank and helping anyone in need. His hobby was his train collection and when he found a new train to collect, it was a happy day for him.

Waiting for him in Heaven, are his parents, Burl and Faye Parsons; his brothers, Joseph “Mark” Parsons and Steve Lynn Parsons; his sisters, Virginia Pearl Parsons and Bernice “Snooky” Parsons Boggs.

He leaves behind his brother James “Jim” Parsons (Mary). His Sisters, Peggy Lambert, Liz Stidham, Lovella Sizemore, Janice Parsons and Loma “Bubbles” Grubb.

Visitation and viewing was held Monday, May 11, from 10 a.m. to noon with Covid-19 restrictions.

Graveside services followed at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens with his pastor officiating, Pastor Lee Stidham. April Hall, the Parise and Worship Leader of the church assisted.

Tex would have wanted all of his family and friends at his homegoing service but because of the Covid-19 restrictions, only his brother and sisters will be able to attend his graveside service.
