BRENDA SUE GIVENS

Brenda Sue Givens, 78, passed away on Saturday, 3/7/2020 in Spotsylvania, VA.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She never came across a dog that didn’t like her.

She was born and raised in the Big Stone Gap area. She was a food service manager at the Wise Regional Hospital, and the Food Service Director at Heritage Hall. In the early ‘90’s she moved to eastern Virginia, to be closer to her family. She was soon diagnosed with early form of dementia. She struggled with this debilitating disease for almost half of her life. We thank God that she’s finally found peace.

Brenda was the daughter of George and Bonnie Zirkle. She was preceded in death by her brother, Samuel Zirkle and sister, Janice Willis.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Toni Givens of Spotsylvania; her granddaughter and husband, Lauren and Dr. Joan Azoury of Fairfax; her grandson and wife, LT Andrew and Bekah Givens of Fort Bragg, N.C.; her brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Lannis Zirkle of Chester, VA; her sister-in-law, Sylvia Zirkle of Big Stone Gap.

We will always remember her the way she was, and the positive impact she had on so many lives.
