LAURA LEE TATE CANTRELL
Laura Lee (Tate) Cantrell, 53, of Acworth, GA/Big Stone Gap, VA, passed away January 30, 2020 after a brave battle against cancer.
She was born February 4, 1966 to Ted and Milly Weyrick Tate.
Laura Lee was a graduate of Powell Valley High School class of 1984, she was also a college graduate from Clinch Valley College. She will be greatly missed by her extended family in the Acworth area along with her southwest Virginia family.
Laura Lee is survived by her husband John Cantrell; two sons, Colton Cantrell and Trevor Cantrell, a daughter, Lexie Cantrell, her parents; Ted and Milly Tate of East Stone Gap; two sisters. Ruth Ann Tate of Duffield; Dr. Missy Ferris, husband Dave of Lexington, VA; and a host of nieces, a nephew, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7 at Holding Funeral Home, Big Stone Gap.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Big Stone Gap. Burial will follow in Powell Valley Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Harry Weyrick, Phil Luckett, Bill Cawood, Jody Riggs, Trey Akridge, and Eural Viers.
