BETTY W BERCHINSKY

Betty W. Berchinsky, 90, passed away Monday, January 13, 2020 at the Hermitage in Roanoke, VA.
She was born July 22, 1929 and lived most of her life in Big Stone Gap until recently moving to Roanoke so her family could be closer to her. She graduated from Appalachia High School in Appalachia, VA and worked at First National Bank in Appalachia for over 30 years. She was a long-term member of East Stone Gap Methodist Church and loved Christ. She was an avid sports fan and was an accomplished bowler. We will miss her sweet spirit, generosity, sense of humor and her quick wittedness! She was loved by all that had the privilege to meet her. You will be missed Ms. Betty, very, very much.
Special thanks to Karen Winstead (niece-in-law), we couldn’t have done it without her over the past few months. Thanks to her caretaker, Brenda Wells, for the many years of dedicated service. We liked to thank the staff at The Hermitage for the special care they provided Betty in her final days.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to your favorite charity in memory of Betty & John Berchinsky.
The family received friends from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm Sunday, January 19, the Roy A. Green Funeral Home, Appalachia. Services followed in the funeral home chapel officiated by Rev. Norman Clark.
