June Tolliver House - Children’s Christmas Tree event winners
A new entrant in the Children’s Christmas Tree event at the June Tolliver House took the top prize this year! It was Dena Barton’s 5th grade class’s three trees that were decorated to represent early life on the Trail of Lonesome Pine. With their rustic burlap ornaments and folded music ornaments, it was a standout from the beautiful handmade angel tree topper to the popcorn garland! They even had a wooden sign "Christmas on the Trail of the Lonesome Pine"!
The second place winner was Ms. Carico's class at Union High. It was eye-catching and exuberantly decorated tree in schools colors with snarling bear ornaments, complete with a cozy fleece tree skirt in school colors.
The third place entrant was Ms. Slagel's class presenting the Chemis-Tree! It rated high on the pun scale with its paper hand-made ornaments demonstrating chromatography. It was a stand out with colored lights and additional hand-crafted pipe cleaner and pom pom "atoms"!
The June Tolliver House wishes to thank all of the children and teachers who made this event so much fun! It always makes Christmas at June's House more special!
