SIDNEY LILA BOYCE
Sidney Lila Boyce, 69, of Big Stone Gap, went into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, December 29, 2019, surrounded by her loving family.
Sidney was a Godly women who showed biblical virtues throughout her entire life. She loved cooking and serving others. Her life's passion was art and making ceramics, she was a business owner, in the Downtown area where she owned Sid's Ceramics. She was a member of David's Tabernacle in Appalachia, where she faithfully attended until her health prevented her from going. She was a devoted foster mother to over 30 children for Wise County. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother and she will be sorely missed by all that knew her.
She was preceded in death by her biological mother and father; Ellen Root, and John Kerszenblat, her adopted parents; Lewis and Norma Redmond.
She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Frank Boyce, her three daughters; Lorenda Stephens, Denise Casey Robinson (William), Antoinette Shook, her grandchildren; Joshua Stephens, Daniel Stephens, John Paul Shook, Stephen Michael Shook, Emily Ann Shook, Lila Jean Robinson, Elizabeth Ann Casey, Diana Rose Casey, her sister, Cornelia Wilcox, her great grandchild, Domnic Stephens.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, January 2, 2020 at Holding Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Holding Funeral Home with Pastor Billy Bowen officiating.
Entombment services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Friday, January 3, at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens in Big Stone Gap.
John Shook, Stephen Shook, Joshua Stephens, Daniel Stephens, William Robinson, and Jesse Harris will serve as pallbearers.
Those wishing to attend the committal are asked to meet at Holding Funeral Home by 10:30 to go in procession to the cemetery.
