EMMA LOU MCDONOUGH SKEEN

 “ Emma Lou, McDonough” Skeen, age 87, of Dayton, OH/ Big Stone Gap, VA, passed away at Miami Valley Hospital on Friday, December 20, 2019.

She was  preceded in death by  her parents, Harry and Ada McDonough; husband, Joe Skeen; son, Bill Skeen Jr.; daughter, Sharon Rector; sister, Marjorie Lane and brothers, Harry, Robert, Gerald and Charlie McDonough.

Emma loved yard work and gardening. She cherished spending holidays with family, especially Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter and took pride in her home. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her sons, Steve Skeen and James “Pat” Skeen; daughters, Sandy (Bob) Adkins and Vickie (Quinton) Murphy; grandchildren, Amy, Ray, Joey and Christopher and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Saturday, Dec 28 at Holding Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Graveside services will be conducted, on Sunday Dec 29 at 1:30 p.m. in Glencoe Cemetery, those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at Holding Funeral Home at 1 p.m. to go in procession to the cemetery.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
