Shelia C. Barnett

Shelia C. Barnett, 61, of Big Stone Gap, passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2019, at her home.

She was preceded in death by her father, Sam A. Chandler; a brother, Sammy Chandler and brother-in-law, Jim Rutherford; step-father, Tommy Sturgill and father-in-law, Hagy Barnett.

Surviving are her husband, Eddie “Bear” Barnett; daughter, Teri Barnett; mother, Ruby (Laney) Chandler Sturgill; sister, Regina Rutherford of Big Stone Gap; three nieces, Jamie Givens, Shannon Phillips and Jessie Chandler; great nephews, Connor Givens and Chase Robbins; mother-in-law, Hyson Barnett; brother-in-law, Dennis Barnett; two sisters-in-law, Cathy Johnson and Debbie Barnett; and her beloved dog, “Sassy.”

Final arrangements are private.

The family requests memorial donations be made to the Cedar Ridge Freewill Baptist Church, 1413 Crackers Neck Road, Big Stone Gap, VA 24219.
