Walter Tignor, 71, of Dryden, passed away Monday, December 16, 2019.

Walter was born on September 26, 1948 in Big Stone Gap to the late Albert Tignor and Eula (Akens) Tignor.

He graduated from Powell Valley High School and attended some college. He enjoyed football, riding motorcycles, and fixing old vehicles. Walter’s passion was the outdoors and farm life. He enjoyed raising and caring for sheep, cattle, horses, and goats. He was a coal miner the majority of his working career, with Westmoreland Coal Company. He served his country honorably in the United States Army.

In addition to his parents; the mother of his daughters, Zella Mae Tignor, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his two daughters; Tammy Tignor,& Michelle Dotson her husband John, brothers; Mark Tignor, & Dwight Tignor his wife Doris, other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 12-1 p.m., Friday, Dec 20 at Holding Funeral Home. The funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Holding Funeral Home, with pastor Paul Davis & Jack Clark officiating. A military  honors service  will be provided by the local V.F.W. honor guard. A Graveside service will be conducted following the service in the Horton Cemetery.
