THOMAS DICKENSON

East Stone Gap, Va.-Thomas “Tom” Dickenson, 70, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2019, at Lonesome Pine Hospital in Big Stone Gap.
Tom worked for many years in the maintenance department of Lonesome Pine Hospital. He was a member of the National Locksmith Assn. and founding owner of Lonesome Pine Lock and Key. Tom was well known for his woodworking. He was a master craftsman and built and donated many musical instruments to local organizations for fundraising events. He was of Baptist faith
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Vincent and Mary Sue (Register) Dickenson; brothers, Charles Dickenson and Robert Edward Dickenson.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Deanna Dickenson; sons, Shannon Dickenson (Dawn), Wise, Va. and Anthony Dickenson (Tracy), East Stone Gap; grandchildren, Cole Thomas Dickenson and Emily Shea Dickenson; sisters, Wanda Sorah (Don), Etta Pleasant (Kenny), Pam Stacy (Herbert), all of Big Stone Gap, Debbie Dickenson and Sarah Reynolds, Dryden, Va.; two brothers, Mike Dickenson (Holly), Big Stone Gap and Jerry Dickenson, Gainesville, Fl.; and several nieces and nephews.
The family received friends 5 to 7 p.m. Monday,at Gilliam Funeral Home (618 Wood Ave., W.) in Big Stone Gap. Funeral services followed at 7 p.m. with Pastor Alan Collier officiating.
Final disposition will be private.
