AARP meets Dec. 2

The Big Stone Gap Chapter of AARP will meet Monday, December 2 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Big Stone Gap.Major and Donna Griffin will sing at 11:30 am with dinner and meeting to follow.  Bring a side dish that goes with ham.  Please bring apple or grape juice boxes for the Back Pack project. 

Christmas play

The Appalachia Cultural Arts Center presents a free Christmas gift to the community of Appalachia and surrounding area on December 13 at 7 p.m. a play entitled “Twelve Plays of Christmas” by author Pat Cook under the direction of Pamela Counts. No better time to enjoy a Friday evening to help get in touch with your Christmas spirit than to attend a good play and it’s free.  For information call Gary Bush at 276/565-1386.

Jazz Ensemble

On December 2 The UVA-Wise Jazz Ensemble will present their annual Christmas concert under the direction of Donald Sorah Jr. at the Appalachia Cultural Arts Center located on 320 West Main Street in Appalachia at 6:30 p.m.  It is free to the public and everyone is invited and welcomed to attend.  For more information call Gary Bush at 276/565-1386.

Christmas Eve Candlelight Communion Service at First Baptist Church, Wood Ave. in Big Stone Gap at 6 p.m. Dec. 24. Come as you are. Everyone welcome and bring a friend.
