This map shows in yellow the boundaries of the property that county
supervisors agreed to add to Appalachia town limits. Included are the
small parcel containing the former Bullitt mine site, and below it additional
property between Appalachia and Big Stone Gap. That section includes a
small residential area that will not be part of the adjustment. The town will
produce another map that shoes the exact boundary adjustment.
Removed from the proposed boundary adjustment was a 900-acre active
mine site immediately east of the Bullitt site.
