MECC announces new fund

The Mountain Empire Community College Foundation has announced a new fund in the college president’s name that will provide resources for learning and professional development.

The President Kristen Westover Fund, established by members of Dr. Westover’s family, will be specifically used to assist with faculty, staff, and student professional development, recognition and learning tools. Westover, who has served as president since July 2017, has established a Leadership Academy at MECC for staff and is developing a leadership training for students as well.

Additional contributions to the fund are welcome. All gifts are fully tax-deductible. Should any funds remain after Westover’s presidency, they will be available to future presidents to use for the same purpose.
