JIMMY ALLEN DAVIS

Jimmy Allen “Jim” Davis, 68, of Big Stone Gap, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2022, at Lonesome Pine Hospital.

Jim lived most of his life in Big Stone Gap. He was a U. S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam Era. He was retired from the Town of Big Stone Gap. Jim was a member of the Big Stone Gap Masonic Lodge #208 AF & AM, the Wise County Shrine Club, and was Past Assistant Fire Chief of the Big Stone Gap Fire Dept. He was a member of the Andover Community Church. He lived a full life, loving his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Davis.

Surviving are his wife, Veronica (Swindall) Davis; daughter, Judy Harold (Joe), Telford, Tn.; step daughter, Jennifer Gilliam Kilgore (Anthony), Seymour, TN.; stepson, Charlie Gilliam (fiancé, Kim Woodring), Mt. Pleasant, NC; grandchildren, Tyler Reece, Maggie Harold and Ryan Harold; sister, Janet Lawson (Johnny), Murrells Inlet, SC; father and mother in-law, Charles and Ann Swindall; and several cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 24 at Gilliam Funeral Home, 618 Wood Ave., W., Big Stone Gap. A masonic service, by the Big Stone Gap Masonic Lodge #208 AF & AM, will follow at 1:00 pm, prior to the funeral service with Pastor Tony Nunley officiating.

Military rites, by the Bluff City (Tn.) DAV #39 Honor Guard, will follow at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
