CELIA ANN STIDHAM

Celia Ann Stidham (Maness), age 81, of Silver Spring, MD passed away peacefully Monday, November 1, 2021 surrounded by family. 

Celia was born October 5, 1940 in Big Stone Gap, Virginia to Roy and Macie Maness.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, James Swanson Stidham who passed away in 2009. 

Celia was a homemaker.  She enjoyed cooking, gardening, loving on every pet she ever met and the occasional game of Bingo, but most of all she was dedicated to her three children, 13 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.  She delighted in seeing and spending time with all of the babies in the family and traveling to see her children and sister. 

She is survived by daughter Donna Hardy of Maidens, VA, daughter Reba Turnbaugh and son-in-law Allen Turnbaugh of East Berlin, PA and daughter Carol Chase and son-in-law Timothy Chase of Westminster, MD.  She is also survived by her sister, Eula Mae Powers of Chincoteague Island, VA.

The family will receive friends Thursday, November 4, from 11:00 – 12:00 p.m. at the De Vol Funeral Home, 10 East Deer Park Drive, Gaithersburg, MD 20877. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 12:00. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
