RUBY BAILEY KILGORE

Ruby Bailey Kilgore, of Big Stone Gap, passed from this life on April 12, 2020 at the age of 100.

She was born in Hawkins County, TN on May 5, 1919, the only child of John W. Bailey and Cepha Weston Bailey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ralph N. Kilgore, their infant son, John Albert Kilgore and grandsons; James Robert Austin, and David Timothy Kilgore.

Mrs. Kilgore grew up in Imboden and has resided in Big Stone Gap for the last 73 years. She owned and operated the Bus Terminal Café in the 60s and early 70s, and she retired from Lonesome Pine Hospital in 1986. She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ, and of Mountain Empire Older Citizens.

Surviving to honor her memory are one son, Ralph David Kilgore (Bonnie) three daughters; Brenda Austin (James David), Judith Southworth (Thomas) and Betty Lynn Witt (Robert), 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends.

Due to the recent health regulations the service will be a private family matter, and she will be laid to rest in Glencoe Cemetery. Flowers are welcome, or contributions to M.E.O.C. P.O. Box 888, Big Stone Gap, VA 24219.
